I installed SLP's "loud mouth" exhaust last night and drove it around. It is much deeper and louder than stock. Under hard acceleration the sound is incredible. Around 2000 rpm there is some drone that gets a little annoying. I have heard big block fords before and it is safe to say that this system produces a sound that can compete. It doesn't even sound like the same car.

I know there's no pics or sound clips. This pics are easy, I just need to find something to record the sound. I'll get it, don't fret...

If ya get sick of the drone just turn the radio up. It always works for me. How was the fit for them? Did ya have to do any adjusting?

The kit fit really well. There was a little twisting and tweaking but all in all it was a piece of cake. The tips look sweet and they produce a nice resonance, more so than just a single walled tip.

Will onbolting removing the stock mufflers get you basically the same sound? I am asking because I would like to try this first and drive around to see if I like the sound and make sure it isn't annoying on the highway.

No, I don't believe it will. This will probably produce a more raspy sound than anything. The Double wall tips, like I said, produce some resonance that is not raspy at all.

The system is deep and throaty, with a pronounced...."gurgle"

I ordered from SLP. They were giving me that same shpeel and I waited for a week then started barking about it. They replied back that they would be shipped out the next day, got them four days later.

They produce them in batches, so I guess you just have to wait. It stinks, I know.

You are paying less than me though. I paid $249 plus shipping. So at least you've got that for piece of mind.

I know, I know...I have a digital camera, it's just not a high priority right now. I'll get it done this weekend, how about that?

Do portable MP3 players have mics on them? I don't have one....just wondering.

I installed this system on Saturday and it is awesome. Nothing that I have heard even comes close to this set up. Much louder than stock and it sounds awesome, not much drone that I could tell. The tips are pretty sweet and it looks so much better not seeing mufflers right behind the tips. Pretty easy to install. If you are after a good sound without having to get an x-pipe with high flow cats this is definatly the kit for you.

I ordered in the middle of January and recieved it on Tuesday. They were waiting for there first shipment but it was 50 bucks cheaper than Slp directly. Definatly worth the wait when you fire it up for the first time it sounds like completly different car for sure, sounds awesome while idle. I think the tips contribute alot to the sound they are some monster tips almost a foot long.

Drone is a constant sound given off by the exhaust at cruising speeds. So for example, when you take your car (with a stock exhaust) on the highway, after you accelerate and reach a consistant speed (usually around 2000RPM) the exhaust note disappears or is greatly reduced. With drone, the exhaust note stays at an audible level throughout your time on the highway wether your accelerating or not..Some like it, Some hate it. Easiest way to get around it if you have it is to turn the radio up.
