I am thinking of upping the exhaust. My 06 is on order. I will eventually add a CAI and tuner. If I get the cat back magna flow exhaust, both for performance and sound. The Header back that includes the xpipe and new cats for 550 more. Now with shipping we are talking close to a grand. Is the performance worth it or should I wait to order the x pipe when I get the CAI? I am estimating a total HP increase of 50 hp. Suggestions??

Judging by the fact that NUMEROUS owners have upgraded their exhaust, I am sure you will hear plenty of people say it is worth it. But it is truely up to you. If you can afford it, go for it.

I plan on getting at least an x-pipe (I'll wait on the mufflers since they do not offer performance gains).

If you get a deal for buying as a comb, that is even better. If you say $1,000 for 50 hp, that is about $20/hp. So the ratio sounds right.

Are you planning to go with the Magnaflow axleback or MagnaPacks? From what some people are saying, if you get the X-pipe with the cats in them they actually quiet the sound down a little making it deeper. Running the o/r X-pipe makes it louder but won't pass inspection in many states.

Can anybody confirm how the Catted X-pipe changes the sound?

The catted X-pipe will make it a little louder, but I wouldn't count on much (of any) hp gains. The sound is worth it though IMO.

lol 50hp?!?!?! lol i dont know about that one, your getting nothing from the cat backs, not to sure about the mid pipe but your def not getting 30hp out of it, and your getting ~20hp from the long tubes, nothing from the short tubes, they are a waste of money IMO... so:

0 - mufflers
20 - long tubes
prob 10 - midpipe

but its all about the sound and the smile when u start it up and floor it at WOT.... its worth it, maybe not the headers at first, but midpipe and cat backs will make a big difference

When I read it, I thought he was expceting 50 including the CAI and tune. That would make sense, 15 from x-pipe with hi-flow cats and 35 from CAI and tune. But I have not seen a 50 hp from exhaust alone.

Ah tru ok.... well even if he includes the CAI and Tune he will prob get to about 50hp, but hes not gonna be speding the same amount of money... heades ~700, mid pipe ~450, cat back~275, CAI and Tune~600 = ~2000
