Tom, will the ceramic rust at all even after a long amount of time?

Not unless you scrape it off during the install.... should last a long, long time. Won't turn different colors either.

Compared to long tube headers, shorties should be a cake walk - isn't that right, soundwave? And yeah, those log-type exhaust manifolds are ugly - even if the shorty headers don't offer any signifigant power gains, they'd be worth putting in just to spiff things up a bit in the engine bay.

LOL, well installing shorties can't be harder than installing LTs. my arms were like jelly after that day.

I can't see how they would be much easier, either.

Thanks for the heads up. I think I might try it someday. I would like to do as much as I can without paying someone do installs for me.

I've been wondering about this too....the thing is, while I'm in the warranty period, I want to be able to return to stock (reinstall OEM air box/tune) and not have it run lean (like it would w/headers), in case I have to take it back for a warranty claim.

I don't believe with the shorties you would have any problem since they are before the cats. Shorties do not require a tune so I suppose a person could install a set of shorties and do nothing else and it wouldn't affect anything.

Graypny is right. We are way. I want to personally say I am sorry to "Bored out" for highjacking his thread. As for my senior friends and myself... we are just getting old and can't help ourselves sometimes. STD (Blkstang06) on the other hand is just whacked out and drools alot even when he is not sleeping.
