I've noticed a lot of vibration in my shifter (manual tranny) especially when I hit the throttle in 3rd or 5th gears.

Is this normal? I've had a lot of cars and almost all of them have been manuals, and I haven't experienced anything like this since 5-speeds from the late 80's.

 

It's not normal for sure, does it still vibrate in third and 5th w/ the clutch pushed in?

 

No. It only does it with the clutch out.

 

It's definetly in the tranny then. Couldn't tell you what it is, but if it's vibrating pretty bad, It would be well worth it to take it by the dealership, before it gets worse and they "attempt" to rebuilt it.
