I know I'll sound like a pu-nanner, but the interior noise is too loud with the windows rolled up. The resonance is like nails on a chalkboard for me. Just my opinion of course.

The sound from the outside is incredible though. When I rev it when people are around I can see smiles forming on their faces.

 

 

So what are you going to replace them with?

 

interior noise? i have almsot none with my SLPS. I get noise when accelleratinig through the gears but once i reach a highway speed in about 15 seconds there is no drone and no resonance at all.

 

Intestingly, I was talking with a guy who had SLP's this morning as he was having is 2004 Cobra dynoed and he was about to get rid of them as well. Said the same, that he gets favorable responses from on-lookers but couldn't take the interior pounding any more. From what I heard when they dynoed his car, I could see his point. While they certainly sounded impressive, I don't think I'd want them on my car either.

 

Maybe you should check to see that all of the bolts are tightened and that there are no air leaks. Like 94tbird said, there is almost no noise inside the car...however, i get to highway speed in less than 15 seconds...haha

 

I liked the SLP Loudmouths but the Mrs. (or commander in chief) didn't like them so I ended putting back the stock cans and selling the SLP LM.

 

Just my .02 . . . . . they don't bother me with the windows up or down and even passed muster with the old lady on a recent weekend long trip. I point blank asked her if she thought they were too loud or obnoxious and she said she didn't think so.

I rarely ask her opinion about anything automotive so I was sticking my neck out in doing so . If she'd said, "yes they are too loud" it wouldn't have made any difference anyway :notnice: , it's my car and they're staying on it .

I don't want to sound like a jerk, so all of you claiming there is no interior noise please take this with a grain of salt.

The interior noise is pronounced. There is no mistaking that this noise is caused by a lack of a muffler. There are no leaks because I had them on extremely tight. I don't see how anyone who owns this system could say that there is not a more than normal amount of interior noise at lower RPMs. Yes, at highway speeds it was fine, but when accelerating from a stop or at the magical 2000 RPM mark it was a sort of resonance that you had to turn your radio up just to cut the sound.

Hah that's pretty funny. I made tech an offer awhile ago for the price he just sold them at and he said no. Kind of sucks he didn't come to me first, since I'd made an offer a little while ago, but oh well. I no longer expect any courtesy from anyone.

Get the corsa's.
Just the right amount of sound. No resonance or drone.
Outside sound is incredible! Sounds more like a big block!
