Selling FRPP's - which muffler next?

This car has really become a nice hobby - although expensive. Fortunately, I have a little play money while having my midlife crisis.

I tried the FRPP Stingers for a week, wicked sound, but it was just too loud for me. I took them off and put the stock back on. Nice sound but a little too quite. I'm probably going to try the FRPP M-52300-GTA or M-5230-GTQ if I can get more info. They are supposed to be 50 state legal. Lethal performance sells them.

Anyone purchased anything from Lethal?
Where is best place to sell the FRPPs - here, Ebay?

Comments welcome.

Richard,

Are the FRPP Stingers part #M-5320-5GT?? I have been thinking about those but don't want to get too loud.

I would say to go ahead with the oval FRRP mufflers then they will not be near as loud but will still have that nice deep sound.

I have put dynamat on the floor and a bit in my trunk and it quieted the Stingers down a bit. I'm going to be putting more in the trunk to so I suspect it will quiet them down even more so maybe you'll want to try that out 1st before you get rid of the awsome sound they make!!!

Put the borlas in the for-sale forum, i'm sure someone will pick them up.

As for what next... I like my bassanis, they don't drone badly and have a really nice sound (many compliments). They are quieter than the borlas.

You could try and offer a trade to someone wanting louder mufflers as a suggestion.

If someone and their army took my FRPP's from me. My second choice would be MAC axle backs. :-)

I don't find my FRPP Stingers all that loud from in the cabin, and the drone is less than stock IMO. Not sure what people are expecting from their exhaust, but the Stingers aren't bad from interior... this isn't a German sedan with zero noise... the exhaust sound, to me, just add to the muscle car feel.

Yep i agree .

The drone is only at around 1800-2k RPMS and then it is gone and to me it isnt even bad enough to complain.

Don't get me wrong, the FRPP stingers (M-5230-5GT) that I installed sounded really cool with a classic muscle car sound down low and mean. You could feel it, and had a good scream at WOT. I guess I am just getting old and looking for something a little more mellow - something just slightly louder than stock. The FRPPs -5GT's had what I would consider moderate drone/resonance at starting around 1300 ending about 2000 rpm, with a peak at 1800. If you were sitting right on that 1800 RPM it was loud. But, at highway cruising 70 MPH - no drone at all, and no drone above 2000RPM. It was nice to hear it with the windows down around town, but I just don't want it that loud. Was it obnoxiously loud? --- No.

Selling, I don't know. Purchased for $404 + shipping. Used for one week. Only blemish is on the pipes where the pipe clamps were tightened. Nice chrome polish. Probably $325 + shipping would be fair. I may put on that famous auction site.

I like the idea of the M-5230-GTA's since they look stock. I may look into these.

I put my Flowmasters on today, these old ears like that sound. the only way I can make them drone is 5th gear 1500 rpm uphill, other then that they are quiet at cruise, but sound nice when you drop the hammer! They were very quiet when I first install them this afternoon, but by the time I got 250 or miles on them they got a lot louder. thank god. Man do they sound sweet now.

Whatever you do- buy mufflers for sound and nothing else, because you won't get any performance gains with a muffler. I bought Flowmasters for their sound (not loud), and with an x-pipe, they sound even less harsh. They are rumbley and smooth, and don't disturb my neighbors unless I floor it. I had FRPP GTA's on order and cancelled them after I heard a car with Flow's on it- I have never regretted it.

Flows aren't made with the attention to detail like stainless Corsa's, but I figure that the tips look great, and I can't really see the muffler under the car anyway. If you 're the kind of guy that likes to roll under you car and admire the bottom side, don't buy Flows- they're just black-painted cans, but you can't beat the sound!

Sounds like the FRPP GTA's fit the bill for what you are looking for, I really like mine.
