I wonder how big the diffrence between the programs is? Like when ultimate turbo or whatever that turbo company advertises on this page said that they were haveing troubble tuning due to the limitations of the first Xcalibrator.

How does this take into account mods already made, like underdrive pulleys and axle backs?

or future ones, like a CAI

Well I hope the end user software is better than the SCT ExtremeTune we have now for the XCalibrator version 1.0. The end user software has to be my biggest gripe with the current XCalibrator product.

The current version of their software (and the prior versions) have been their weakest link. I am with you, LordBritish, lets hope it improves.

Very good news. Hopefully they cut current SCT owners a price break.

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking......having purchased the Xcalibrator several weeks ago!! Wish I had known this unit was in the pipeline - but I guess, like any technology, no matter when you buy - the next best is right around the corner...

It would be nice if all you had to do is call them up and let them know what mods you currently have installed. Then they send you a custom tune for your current mods. Is that what is coming?

That capability is currnetly available through the original Xcal. HOWEVER, without a dyno close by, some shops won't send you an arbitrary tune without seeing some installed equipment and readable numbers.

They risk the liablility of major mechanical damage/bodily injury.

There is supposed to be an upgrade price for current XCalibrator users. I have no idea what the % are nor when it will be out though.

Looks like a copy of the Predator. Will be good for us, since competition usually drives down price. Both seem to have the same features.

There's one key thing different tough. The Predator allows you to make adjustments with the handheld unit itself. No software required for that.

Look's to me from the description that you'll need a software interface to make adjustments.

Honestly, with this new SCT unit, I feel it will come down to price. Both offer similar features it seems. Power difference should be very slight, since it is the actual knowledge of the guy tuning the vehicle which makes the difference.

Funny, the ad says they are the first to sell a multi programed unit. I am not sure how good it is to be first if you have these problems.

I registered and watched the forum on SCT. I watched 2005RedGT and LordBritish get very little response too. Heck I wrote an email to one of the SCT guys in Feb. I still have not gotten a response.

Wish I had known this unit was in the pipeline
After seeing the delayed response from SCT and seeing how their extreme software was due out "Any Day Now" for a while, I wonder how long this pipeline really is.

Actually, the software has been out for a while, and works well. There only a few things (auto tranny items) that have not been added to work at this time. However, i have been doing programming with the software for at least 6 weeks now. Prior to that, it was out but was pure garbage.

Now for their lack of response. Yes, you are right. IT was pathetic. BUT recent event seems to have shaken up their support. They are much more responsive than before. They still have a ways to go, but they are getting there

I agree. SCT has pulled their craniums out of their sphincters. My rep is calling me every once in a while just to see how things are going.
