SCT X-Calibrator 2 Question

If you hook up the SCT and drive, will the thing display approximate values for A/F ratios? I think I might be running a little rich.

I think you need a wideband O2 sensor to get meaningful results.

Yes, I agree that is the most accurate way of getting numbers. But it would be useful to see whether the carbon in my tailpipes is consistent with the SCT readout. Maybe it was from me stomping on the accelerator too often.

you need a wideband o2 to get any real useable results. I thought i read somewhere that one of hte tuners had an input for an 02 sense to add that data to the collected pool of stuff.

but i could be wrong.

I guess getting to somebody that can do a dyno tune (and uses a wideband O2 sensor) would be the best way to go. Unfortunately, I'm kinda out in the middle of nowhere here in Eastern Washington.

You didn't mention if your car is modified. If it is stock it can't be running rich unless something is malfunctioning in which case it is covered under the factory warranty. If you have a custom tune you can run a datalog with the Xcal2, email it to the tuner, and he can analyze it.

Aha. Did not know about the datalog thing. My car does have a custom tune from Paul's High Performance. I'll try getting some info from the SCT. I guess they tell you how to do that on their website?
