I have been had by a scam artist, Shannan D Wheeler (aka TrueTenFive at Modular Fords).

If you have been following the "Bigger, Stronger, Faster" thread, you know that I sent $400 (thru PayPal) for a Teksid block to a guy who now hasn't responded to any attempt by me to reach him for 5 days. Apparently, this guy has been scamming for years, and is well known in some mustang circles, but I have never heard of him. Ken (Apten Perf/MD Motorsports) PM'ed me and pointed me to these two threads:

http://forums.modulardepot.com/showthread....&threadid=72974

http://forums.modulardepot.com/showthread....&threadid=17405

When he and I first exchanged e-mail, he had an embedded signature in it. This is the e-mail address and the signature:

SDWheeler@hanover-co.com

Shannan Wheeler
Hanover Compressor Co.
Designer
Global Technical Support
281-854-3103 - Office
832-445-6919 - Cell

So, assuming this is real info (and not faked somehow), I went digging yesterday and found out that area code 281 is in Houston, TX. Hanover Compressor Co has four Houston locations. One of them has a main phone number of 281-854-3000, and 854-3103 would likely be x3103 at this location. That number is for a Hanover facility at 11000 Corporate Center Drive, Suite 200, Houston, 77041. I plan to contact Hanover and ask them if a Shannan D Wheeler works for them. And if so, are they aware that one of their employees is using the company e-mail system to accept money (via PayPal) for fraudulent purposes.

I will also notify "HOUSTONCOP" who posted in the first thread above (near bottom of page 2), and I will alert PayPal as well.

Man, do I feel stoopid right now.

You have enough on your mind without added responsibility of getting after this. It sure would be "nice" if someone here could knock on a few doors for you.

"ah, This is Tony, and sir I have a message for you...it's something about kneecaps..."

I wish you well.

DON I am so sorry to hear you were scammed if that in fact is what happened.
Before you start allowing this guy to cover up his tracks why not ask a member in the Huston to check it out for you? I am sure you can locate such a person on these forums. I would not alert him until I actually had a name, address and some particulars on him. Once you have this you can check his police records. You may not be the first to be scammed. Your $$ may be gone forever. Sad indeed.

A few years ago, he pulled the same thing with LOTS of people who paid up front for a head swap kit for '96-'98 GT's. He was on the Corral and Stangnet, screen name "The Game". At that time he drove a 96-98 GT, not sure about now. Didn't know he was still at his old tactics.

Don, I wish I knew this before, He was at the FFW event in Orlando this weekend. That may explain where he's been and why he didn't send it right away. You will make a lasting impression on the FFW forums. He's over there a bunch and wouldn't want to tarnish anything there.

Don, I am sorry you got tied up with this crook. After all the people he has scammed, I can't believe he's A: not in jail or B: someone hasn't severly injured him.

Also last time I heard (through modular depot) that He didnt have anything in his name, like it was all in his wifes or mom's or something so tracking him down would be more difficult. I really hope something finnally comes from all of this, I thought there was a federal case up against him from the prior headswap scams.

I still for the life of me can't figure out how this greasy slime ball is still racing! After reading through alot of threads about this guy I would have a hard time lining up next to him without the thought of crossing the centerline and taking him out. Some of the threads that I read through go back quite a ways. He must have armed guards walking around with him.

Don,
Did you get in touch with that sheriff from Houston?

Yea, well you can't say a single thing wrong about him on the FFW forums or the post gets deleted. That has been proven many times.
