I dont have the link or anything, but somewhere, before the 05's hit the lots, I read this write up that, the piston rings on the new 4.6 3v wouldnt take any boost.

Is this true?

Several companies have already put blowers on the 3v 4.6, so the rumor is completely false. :notnice:

Besides, the initial poster is banned, that is always a red flag.

Yeah, but who know how hard those cars have been run, or what else was done to the engine.

I am hoping for the best (6-9psi without any other modifications), yet I am guarded. I will wait until I see official product releases and real people reporting on their experiences.

Somewhere I read that the short block for the '05 was lifted directly from the '04 Mach 1. If they aren't having problems, why should we

There was a thread here a couple of months ago about this. Do a search and you'll find it.

EDIT: Here it is:

I think the argument has some merit, but until someone comes out with a kit that has been thoroughly tested, we won't know for sure.

Angliam isnt banned from FordPower, thats just his avatar title, to throw off people and make them think hes banned. If someone gets banned on FP it will say "Banned" not "BANNED"

No 4.6 (other than the 03/04 cobras) has ever been able to take large amounts of boost from the factory. This new one I imagine will hold up to a moderate (8 lbs) of boost just like the old one did. Just make sure, like on past 4.6 hypereutectic stangs, that the tune is right. A bad tune is what kills an engine.

Dont pay any attention to alarmist threads that say things like "2005 stang cant be supercharged" etc. Some threads have been posted on here and the person edited it several times because everyone disagreed. It went from cant, to shouldnt, to cant effectively (although I think an extra 100 horsepower is effective ). By the time the post was done being edited, he had changed his entire story.
