Talked to the Roush engineer Todd again today. I was noticing a tiny bit of carbon buildup on the inside of the exhaust tips and running rich camed to mind. I called Roush, left a quick message and waited for the call-back - which came within the hour. Todd told me this was normal, that under full throttle (which admittedly there's been alot of) the computer compensates and goes rich to protect the internals. How thoughtful of them. I also let him know about mine and Pete's feedback and he was happy to hear it, said they'd be going into TMS to take a read for themselves re comments on theirs and everyone elses superchargers. Makes for competition me thinks !!

Speaking of competitive, the new Roush upgrade pulley is coming soon, very soon, and it'll be worth another 40 or so hp. For the life of me I'm not in a position to use or need the extra power. A few more days of spirited driving still has me shaking my head at how fantastic just 5 lbs of boost is and until I sign up for full time track duty (which'll be never), I'll have to pass on the new belt. Sadly.....and this is something I figured would happen.....the upgraded pulley will VOID the warranty. Oh well, something to look forward to in 2 years. Or maybe Ford will see the light and listen to the Roush engineers who say that the extra pony's arent' going to hurt a thing.

Anyways.....so far, so good

All I need now is to locate a knowledgeable dealer to do mine and write the check. Anyone know of a dealer near ST Louis?

Nice to hear about the bigger boost.
The kit and the engine should be able to take that no problem.
Probably needs more testing before it gets fords approval or blessing.

Even then...its a nice little upgrade option once the warranty runs out.
BOOM... 40 extra HP

I think I would stick with the normal kit. With extra boost you risk blowing the motor, while a lot of people feel if your super-charging be prepared to foot the bill for a rebuild. I'd rather stay on the safe side, and stay with the "pre-approved warranty covered solution"

I can't stop thinking about this either, I read a step-by-step on the install last night (couldn't sleep.. oh my), I would have you overcome the feeling of someone ripping into my baby like that. Once that happens you never know Here's the step-by-step I found..
http://www.musclemustangfastfords.com/tech...harger_install/

Oh what about insurance, I'm assuming it would probably be a bad thing to tell them that your car is now supercharged

All in all, the Legend lime sure looks good supercharged

450-460 crank horsepower is not anything to be worried about.

The limit was 450RWHP not FWHP

And look at what other kits are doing. It's all in the tune.
I would trust Roush on ANYTHING engine related...
Considering they probably aided in the engine design...

And I think most of us agree on all that. So if you'd be a nice guy and petition Ford to lighten up, I for one would probably remember you in my will or something

Yeah at least with us.... Eastgate Ford is the Roush dealer.
I take it there for warranty work anyway, so the supercharger would be no different.

Sorry if this question has already been asked/answered here but does Roush still require you to send them your PCM to flash it or are they sending the kit with a tuner now? I read the article in MM&FF and they did not mention having to send theirs out.

How does the car pull with the roushcharger?

thnx

Yes, you send the PCM to Roush, and they send it back with the tune on it.

I can't say how it pulls in the manual... but in the auto... SHE PULLS.

Now, saying this, I have not had any seat time or been a passanger in any other S/C 05+ car.
But...
415-425hp roots S/C can get you goin pretty darn good ... and throw you back in the seat.
Great feeling!

Sweet! I am a heavy lean towards the Roush S/C but am also looking at the Saleen and Whipple. I hope to have something installed before the summer

I love the Saleen for its design and execution....

If they offered the same thing as Roush (warranty) it would be a hard decision.

Perhaps......but after becoming officially biased (it was inevitable I guess), what sets Roush apart from the others as far as quality, reliability and compatibility with Ford's systems (including the motor, mechanicals and computer/electricals) is the fact that Roush & Ford were in the same room when this S/C was desiged.
