How long have you had them? How many miles ? What's your overall opinion?
Scott I got dimpled/slotted rotors and I'm REALLY happy with my choice! http://www.2005stang.com/gallery/alb...060507_003.jpg http://www.2005stang.com/gallery/alb...060507_002.jpg |
I've had mine since December and they're still rust free after countless washes.

Any pic's of these with the 64 D wheels??

Nvm.

Anyone I mention slottled and drilled rotors they mention how they'll crack and break. Anyone know or hear of these cracking or being damaged? I know being drilled and slotted you lose some strenght.
Any input? |
I know guys that have been using these rotors on the Trucks for over two years and I have never heard of any problems at all.

Well just got off the phone with Rich. I ordered the rotors and pads from him!!! Very nice guy to deal with.
I also ordered a caliper painting kit. SS brake lines from CR at Tillman Speed. So now I'm playing a waiting game for my stuff. Then let the fun begin:metal: Thanks again for all the insight and help with leading us new to moding in the right direction. David |
My new rotors and premium pads are also on their way. And I also ordered a G2 caliper paint kit from another source.
Scott  |
The G2 kit is very nice I would say to apply 4-5 coats of it to each caliper.

Right on regarding the G2 kit...... IMO I think it's a great kit and although mine is only a couple weeks old, there is no sign of problems.
What color did you order Scott?? |

What color did you order Scott?? I decided to go with silver. But I think it looks more platnium. I wrestled with this decision for weeks. With a white car it just wasn't easy. It came down to red or silver. I just am hoping for a nice clean look out of it. |
Incredible! I re-posted this 'How-To' because of a broken link that a member here brought to my attention.
This was originally written back in May 06! To think, had I not re-hashed it, a few of you guys would still be rolling with the stock rotors. :rofl2: |

I'm also in the same boat as to what color to paint mine. I have a redfire Mustang and not sure if red calipers will looks good because of the color difference between the body and brakes. Silver may be the way to go. |
Hey Bill,
I will definitely give you credit for making me spend my hard earned $ on this mod. I have been wanting to do it for a long time but your re-post pushed me over the edge. Jonathan, I will post some pics of my silver calipers when finished. I think you might go with the red color with your Redfire car. It all depends if the G2 leans more to the dark red rather than orange red side. I guess it all depends if you want to attract attention to them or just give them a clean finished appearance. I hoping the drilled and slotted rotors will draw the attention and the calipers will just have a that clean look about them ..if you know what I mean. Scott |

Hey Richard, I put 3 coats on my calipers and they are holding up great!!! They look powdercoated!!
As for color on the Redfire I did not use the Red becasue it is not the right shade of red. I went black. Here is a picture. http://www.truckblog.com/gallery/97f1504rad/19557.JPG http://www.truckblog.com/gallery/97f1504rad/15047.JPG Richard |
Well my thing with doing the G2 red paint like Richard mentioned is that the reds are different shades. And Im extremely picky when it comes to certain things and knowing that they aren't the same shade would kill me.
I can't do black because I have black rims and I think with black calipers it would just seem like a black blob in the tire area. Depending on how those silver painted calipers look I may end up doing that to have a nice clean look or just leave them stock. |
Jonathan- PM Eleanor Dreaming he has his calipers painted red. I think he used the G2 kit, but double check with him. He's the dude that just wrecked the front end a couple weeks ago, but I'm sure he has older pix.
|
I also went conservative with Black but I wanted to stay in theme with the Alloy coloring I had.
