Ring and pinion change makes car go in limp mode

I put a 3.27 ring and pinion in my 06 gt in place of the 3.31 and now the car goes into the limp mode, wrench light comes on,but no codes come up.would this small change do this or is there a problem some where else?

Most likely a speedometer miscompare if you didn't have the computer flashed with the new diff ratio.

Your ECU is asking you 'why would you change from a 3.31 to a 3.27'?

Being the dummy I am,I sold the original gears and put in 3.73 gears.decided to sale the car and since I had a set of 3.27 gears I put them in,thinking it wouldn't hurt anything except maybe the speedometer would be off a very little.

Yeah I bet your ECU is confused about the speed sensor vs the engine RPMs. Do you have a flash tuner (Diablo Sport, SCT)? You can change the programmed ratio with those pretty easy. I just don't know if something as low as 3.27:1 is in their preset option list. If you got a tune from a shop (like I got my car tuned by TillmanSpeed) they can do custom ratios different from the preset values.
