Replacement filter for JLT CAI

I need a replacement air filter for my JLT CAI.

It uses a S&B powerstack 4x9 filter.

JLT has one for $50:

Verocious Motorsports has it for $34:
http://stores.channeladvisor.com/ver...s/Items/r0232?

They *appear* to be the same but why the large price diff?

Hmm.. that's a good question.. I am thinking maybe the second vendor sells alot more by volume so they can afford to cut the price?? Not really sure but I was thinking of getting a new filter. Think I may have to try Verocious Motosports.

One minor difference is that the one from Voracious motosports has a chromed end while the one from JLT has a black end.

Do you folks agree that these 2 filters are the same (other than cosmetic) ?

I simply cant understand the almost $20 difference.

It *appears* to be the same but if I'm wrong, I may get a check engine light !!

That's why I want to make sure !!

If they are the same, that would mean JLT is getting over $20 profit on each of these sold

If you had to buy a pallet of them to sit around your wherehouse so you can provide a service selling just the matching air filter, would you take a $5 profit?

I believe when I bought my filter from Jay there was no tax or shipping so take that into consideration.

Saved $8.00! I hope it doesn't throw a code.

I got the S&B filter from Verocious Motorsports installed in my pony it works just fine - no codes thrown.

So if you wanna save yourself $8 get it here:
http://stores.channeladvisor.com/ver...s/Items/r0232?

It's the same filter (except the chromed end which looks nice BTW) that Jay sells on his website.

Nothing against Jay, but he should lower his price a wee bit.

$8.00 more on the filters, but hundreds less on the intake, what's better?
No offence taken, but remember we have no shipping cost and eat some going to HI, CA and all west coast states and come out even on east coast state.

Thanks
Jay

Does anybody know if you can use this filter with the C&L Intake? I know that the filter that came with my C&L is made by S&B, but can you use this filter as replacement?

Diameter: 5.25" (133mm)
Length: 9" (229mm)
Flange Length: 1.75" (44mm)
Weight: 1.5 lbs
Part #: R0232

I always worry about over oiling the filter if I revitalize it and screwing up the MAF. I just buy a new one.

Well would you want to send me your old one next time? Ill pay for shipping. Having a spare would minimize car downtime.

I put a hole in my original filter and bought an amsoil one to replace it. They aren't oiled but supposed to flow almost as well as the gauze and oil ones. You just suck it out with a vac a few times before you replace with a new one. Cost is around $52 I think. Might cost me a couple of horsepower but then I don't have to worry about the oiling issue.
