Rear Trailing arms Torque box reinforcment
Upon removal of the rear trailng arms, cant help but notice the apparent weakness and slightly elongated hole I have in the front mounts.I understand that different companys make these beef up reinforcements for pre 05 Stangs, is there any for the 05.....ANY INFO?
I haven't seen anything, but as Dan said, some of the subframe connectors reinforce that area. Also, I saw an article in one of the magazines where they welded some hardened washers to the control arm mounts for reinforcement to keep the holes from elongating. Adding the washers required longer bolts also.
I believe that article was based on what went into Justin Burcham's 9-10 second car. Welding in chromoly washers would be all many of us really need. BMR Subframe connectors dont really need to be added until you want to up the boost or the shot. Basically, I suppose it could be a rule that as long as the stock rotating assembly remains subframes arent going to be needed.
