I have spent hours reading through all the threads on this site and others. If this question has already been addressed I apologize. Can't find it in the brochure either.

Is the rear axle a Traction Lock (Limited Slip)? I know in my case the axle ratio is 3.31. Will most likely be changing to 3.73.

Hard to believe how ford neglected to tout all the GT'S having Traction lok! It's really buried in the literature!

Remember that scene in "My Cousin Vinny" about the skidmarks that the car left?

Traction lok,Positraction,Antispin,Limitedspin are all Names refering to a Differential that applies power to both wheels under low traction conditions! An open Diff. will not! Under low traction conditions an open diff actually sends the Power to the wheel with less Traction!

Traction control (which includes a limited slip differential) is an option on V6 Mustangs.

Traction control is a system which limits throttle control and applies braking under certain conditions! Traction lok refers to the centersection of the differential! And yes Traction Control is an option on the v6 cars Traction lok or positraction is not!

The GTs have had some sort of limited slip differential forevever it seems, no way you could get enough traction without it.

"Traction lock" was an option on the v6 mustangs until 1998, that option was replaced by traction control since 1999.
