Ready for tune...choices?
After many months of thinking this over, I have decided to go with JTL CAI and xCAL3 w/bama tunes. How original! lol
I currently run my 2008 GT/CS on Shell 89 octane which got rid of the slight ping problem I had.
Here are the grades of gas I have in my area: 87, 89, 91(Sunoco) and 93.
This car is an everyday driver but I do plan on visiting the drag strip very soon and will probably be a frequent visitor.
Eliminating 87, which three tunes should I choose from Bama?
Thanks for your time!

If your car is a daily, you sure you want to eliminate the 87 tune, with the price of gas and all? Just asking, since you did mention your car is a DD. If you want to see the track, I would definitely get a 93 Race Tune, and also get a 93 Performance Tune (a great everyday performer). The 3rd one, get the 87 or 89 Tune, to help eliminate the throttle lag, and save you some $$ at the pump. The Torque tune, which I had, I never used, as it flattens out around 4K rpms. I like to take my car over 5K every so often and the power surge that high is SWEET!!
My car was pinging with 87. I just recently went to 89 and the ping stopped, so I plan on using 89 everyday to save money at the pump. I was thinking about the 93 Race tune for drags, 89 torq and perf.
There is not really a wrong choice. I have the 87 per, 89 tq, 91 tq and 91 race. The 87, although not the strongest performer saves money at the pump. The 89 tune is a good all around tune. The 91 tunes are the most fun to drive espeically the race tune.

Unless you don't have 93 available in the area, I can't see a good reason why anyone wouldn't have a 93 octane tune in the car, or on deck for when the gas prices are reasonable.

I agree with what 05fordgt said. I have and 87perf, 91torq, and 91race. I don't really care for the torq tune, I have a manual and it is jumpy around town and then flattens out. The 87 perf is good to drive and I LOVE the 91race. If I were you and had easy access to 93, I would do 89perf, 93perf, and 93race.

93 race and torque. 87 performance if you find yourself in a place that doesnt have 93 available.
Oh and switching down to 87 due to price is ****ing stupid. It'll only save you 4-5 bucks max.
