Quick Q: When bleeding brakes....

should the cap be on or off the master cylinder?

Thanks

I leave the cap on and just check/re-fill the fluid occasionally.

Bleeding can be done either way... the only thing about doing it with the cap off... if you depress the brake pedal to quickly the fluid in the master cylinder will squirt all over inside the engine compartment.

The cap should be off of the reservoir ONLY when filling the fluid level. Brake fluid absorbs moisture even from the air quick as hell. Moisture is the brake systems worst enemy.
