Quick C&L Racer intake install question?

I got the intake and shortly will install. I noticed this MAF housing does not have a bracket or the need to remove the one bolt in the valve cover for the bracket install. I wonder if this is correct? This is a lighter design then the Street intake so mabye no bracket is needed. Has anyone else recall having the bracket on the Racer intake? Going to put my Steeda LCA`s following Tacobills install intructions first. Thanks BILL! Then on to the Intake then TUNE!!! I will be out in the Garage with the laptop. Thanks for any input!!

btw I did call C&L and left a message with the question. And got some new bolts for the MAF housing. This intake did not come with the bolts just FYI......

Nope, no bracket on the valve cover at all. The heat shield bolts down on the fenderwell and zip-ties to the brake lines at the ABS box.

thanks for the reply... that is how I installed it... It fit like a glove and will be easier to remove when I go to the Dealer for what ever......

Correct, the lighter weight of the plastic Racer inlet tube does not require the bracket attached to the valve cover like the aluminum inlet tube.

How do you like it? I've had mine since Sept 06 and have not had it off except when necessary to remove it temporarily to add other mods

I love the intake... I will only take it off when it goes to the Dealer so I don`t have any issues. I have the full warranty package.

yes bill it did... dunno if I would have been able to takle or do it correctly with out all those pictures. I hope to have a better 60`ft with them. Did you notice some noise from the axle area after your install? It is not that loud but sound like a slight whine when decelerating thru various speeds.

No, quiet during accel/decel. I have the FRPP 4.10 'A' gears, if that makes any difference.
