questions before buying CAI

Guys, I have had my stang in to the dealer already for the handing rpms issue and the irratic rpm issue. I am going to take it back in again cause it is doing it again. I am going to ask them to check the TB also.

my question is, if the dealer reflashes the computer, does that impact my purchase of a CAI. is there any new info I have to give the vendor before purchase? I want to make sure I order the right thing. I thought that if the dealer reflashes the computer with a new tune, it may mess up the aftermarket tune?

please advise.

Sam

If you return your car to stock, and the dealer reflashes, it doesn't mess up your tune, it just needs to be updated with the new calibration code.

All you will have to do is go over simple steps of reading the strategy flash code when the CAI and tuner is at your door. If you purchase through me, I'll walk you through that. It's a pretty simple and straight-forward deal when it comes down to it.

THANKS!!

Tillman is correct I would even go as far as asking the service manager to please update your computer code sticker (the dealer is supposed to do anyway) in the event of a new strategy code so you can easily get the info before ordering your new CAI.

That's a wonderful idea. Unfortunately, the dealers around here either don't care enough or just forget to put the stickers on. If you ask, I'm sure they will because as mentioned above, they're supposed to anyway.
