I just purchaed some 5W-20 Amsoil oil and a SuperDuty Amsoil oil filter (good for 12500 miles so they say).

Amsoil reccomends changing their 5W-20 every 7500 miles.

Do you think I could get away with changing the oil every 10,000 miles in my 05 GT ??

I wouldn't, I use the same oil and I will probably change it every 5000 miles more or less. The 5W-20 doesn't have the same extended life additives the 5W30 does.

Amsoil did have a 0W-30 that was good for 30,000 miles or so, however, they didn't seem to have an oil filter that lasted that long - go figure.

So, I just purchased the regular 5W-20 instead.

I've been running 5W-20 Amsoil XL-7500 in my F-150's for years. I usually change it at about 6000 miles or so. I just can't bring myself to go much past that.

My '05 GT only has 800 miles on it and I'll run the Amsoil in it too. The 4.6L revs much higher than the 5.4L and I wouldn't go 10K miles between changes. At nearly $6/quart, I sure wish I could!
