Question about OR/X Install & CEL

I installed my new or/x-pipe at the end of last week and got a CEL over the weekend. (To be expected, I know) This monday I got the new tune from american muscle, uploaded it and cleared the CEL with my SCT3. The code was a P1290 (Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor Signal Less Than Self-Test? Range ). Everything seems fine and dandy, no more CEL and car runs great. I Just wanted to get a second opinion to make sure what I saw wasn't something catastrophic.

After I installed the or/x I thought it would be a CEL regarding the o2 sensors, am I wrong?
I'm sort of a newb at Mustangs so perhaps I'm missing something simple, any info would help. Thanks much,

Pat

That is very odd, I agree. I would say as long as the code does not come back, don't worry about it. Probably a fluke of some sort.

I drove it probably 50 or 60 miles today and the CEL never came back on after clearing it. I guess I'll wait and see. (Crossing fingers) I've never had a CEL before and after the or/x install I got one, seems like too much of a coincidence that it would be something else.

I agree, it has to be related somehow. But cylinder head temp. sensor? How is that related to the O2 sensors? That is why I say just wait and see.

Next mods are LCA's and tires.. Edge, how well did the LCA's help with wheel hop? Are they worth it?

They did help, I would not say they cured it 100%, but probably 75%?? The only time I get any wheel hop anymore is wet conditions which I always thought was strange since there is less power going to the wheels. It maybe takes 1/2 to 2/3 throttle to spin the tires when wet and that seems to be when I get wheel hop in 1st or 2nd.

It is an easy mod though, maybe takes an hour to do. I do recommend the J&M ones or the GT500 ones. My J&M's do not have any grease fittings and are lubed for life supposedly. I do have some squeaking now, after about 30K miles of ALL weather driving. I probably need to re-lube them but I have seen no performance degradation on them and J&M seems to think I don't need to lube them ever. I dunno....
