Pulled Trigger on the WHIPPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all, many thanks to maverickmlfd371. When I was pretty ****ed about the Whipple deal (see other thread) he told me Whipple had just updated their tune for the auto. I spoke to the guys at Lethal and at Whipple and they confirmed the new tune existed and was kick a$$! Long story short, a whipple is currently on it's way to my door step as we speak! I actually bought it from an individual who's dealership sold him one for his 07 without telling him it wouldn't work on an 07. He found out the hard way and sold me his brand new Whipple non-intercooled kit. Because it came from Ford Racing, I will get the PCM flash tool from them and won't have to send in my car's computer. According to the UPS tracking # it should be here this Friday. I can't wait. I'll post updates soon!

Being the owner of a 700 hp twin turbo, twin intercooled, methanol injected IROC-Z, the 300 horses my GT puts out just doesn't cut it for me. So I, like you, decided on a Whipple. Although I prefer centrifugal blowers to screw type units, I use my GT on a daily basis and did not want to hear the whine of a centrifugal constantly. Prior to my current custom twin turbo setup, I used to run a Paxton, then a D1SC, then an F1 from ATI on my IROC-Z and love the sound but did not want this on my daily driven Mustang. Enter the Whipple.

My Whipple is currently not installed but unpacked and sitting on my study's floor -- just no time to install.... AND (most importantly), I'm also waiting for my Pro Racer software I ordered last week. I already have the base tune file but I'm definitely going to be tweaking it myself -- no "canned" tune for me -- maximum power to those who tune themselves!!

Very nice! You'll be glad you picked that up! Congrats!

why would you buy non intercooled? Just wondering. Is there a huge difference in price. I would think if your spending that kind of money you would want to make sure it last, so why not the intercooler version, just wondering?

If you talk to Whipple and tell them you have an automatic transmission, they WILL NOT sell you an intercooled (so they told me). Whipple says the intercooled has too much boost for the auto. I had a Ford tech tell me I could go intercooled and just tone it down a little and I'd be fine. As far as price goes, you can get the non-intercooled for $4600 and change. The intercooled is $6000 and change. Based on what Whipple told me, if you get an intercooled on an auto and something goes wrong, they can't guarantee it would be covered under your warranty.

Yeah! I'm waiting weather to warm up so I can begin my Saleen S/C installation... it's been sitting in my living room almost week now!

Yeah, Saleen doesn't come with a bling, neither does Whipple... even when it's polished...

I like the idea of Saleen, it's compact and has everything in same packet. And it looks "factory" when installed!

I would seriously die of anticipation if I had to wait that long. Hell, I almost had a fit when I had to wait 2 days to install my Supreme GT mufflers, and they're not that big of a deal. You tell me I have to wait 3 months to install a new Saleen that's sitting in arm's reach and there is going to be bloodshed.
