I don't get the trumpets as bad as most people. I having had any with the FRPPs yet. That's why I did the normal acceleration video! I will get 2 more today. 1 with better revs, and another under heavy acceleration!

Did you say you haven't had any trumpet's with the frpp's yet. Try to put the camera a little further back when you do your rev's ( it will give a better idea of the sound of that beast ), well be waiting!!

S197GT: How bad are the trumpets with the FRPP/Borlas? Is it as quiet as the stock muffs or are they a lil bit louder than that? I was used to the trumpeting with my SLP's, that was unbearable at times, and if these mufflers are like or near like the trumpeting on the stock muffs then this will prolly be my next purchase!

Drone, trumpeting? I have the Borlas and have no issues at all. I have some drone when you shift gears and are in the lower rpm range but it disappears as soon as you give it some more gas and after I put in the 4:10 gears it has practically disappeared. IMO these mufflers are awesome and I couldn't be happier.
BTW Nick it sounds great!

Do you still have the stock cats in place? If so, you won't get trumpeting regardless of which axleback you use.

Yes I do so maybe that's why I am not understanding these issues.

Exhaust sounds great!
Here comes the stupid question. Does the Pypes off-road H-pipe eliminate the catalytic converters? If so, how are you going to deal with the smog test since you live in California?
Thanks

Well, there you go!
Once the stock cats are removed, all bets are off. The best combo I found with my LTs was the Bassani's. They minimized the trumpeting, but still sounded considerably louder than stock (and Magnaflows, too).

Thanks for all the comments guys.
Rich, I don't have any drone because my gears keep the rpms higher, just like yours. The trumpetting, as Don said, only affects you if you change out your cats.
I never had an issue with trumpetting. The flows didn't do it that bad at all, and I don't hear them at all now. Maybe it's because these are straight through, or maybe I am going deaf !

The O/R pipe DOES delete the cats. This is why it is called an off road pipe. I don't need to get smogged until 2011, so I'll just put the stock pipe back in when the time comes!
Thanks a lot for the offer on uploading my sound clips. I couldn't even email them to you. They were to big. I found a website that lets me download bigger files.

Did you ever get around to making those additional sound clips?

You have perfect timing...
Here is a quick fly by under slightly heavy acceleration...
