Question Pro's and Con's with 4.10's

Before it went down, I was wondering if I should go with some gauges or a set of 4.10's. Those who own the 4.10's let me know what you think of them now???

All you gauge heads, are you happy with them or should you have spent the money else where in retro spec.

I love the 4.10s... I would get them before gauges.

No cons to the 4.10's IMO - you will love every aspect of them I have aftermarket oil pressure and water temp gauges as well, and they are a worthwhile mod when compared to what Ford gives us to monitor the engine. Can't lose with either mod, gauges or gears.

Had 4.30s in my Cobra, no regrets. Plannin' on either 4.10 or 4.30s for the '06. With overdrive your highway rpms will still be fine and MPG won't suffer much if any considering most energy is used to overcome air resistance, not engine internal friction.

Whats the concensus on 410s with power adders, not just at the track but regular driving in a manual. Maybe someone knows of a site or something that can do conversions for me (speed/rpm) and I can figure it out.

I have no issues with my 4:10 gears other than it's hard to keep your foot of the gas! If you drive 65 mph the mileage isn't too bad. I'm getting around 18 on the highway!

Here's my handy dandy spreadsheet... just plug in your tire size and gear ratio at the top.

I'm stuck with 91 octane as well, does CA have some additives or something that decreases mpg by 10? heh

4:10's all the way. As far as mileage I get around 14-17 city, and 23-24 hwy (only down about 2 miles per gallon for each). To me a very small sacrifice for the increase performance. I also have autometer cobalt water temp gauge, autometer d-pic perf meter and raptor shift light. I really like both, but I went with the 4:10's first, and would do that again in a heartbeat.

I'm getting 25mpg highway. I love my 4.10's, now I need to get more meat in the back to take full advantage of them.
