The manual has a number of warnings about not turning on the car, and having the ignition on/off while downloading tunes. But the manual doesn't quite mention WHEN you actually turn the car on when you want to do some data logging. I'm sure someone has done this...

You can have the car on anytime you want. If you are driving down the road and feel so inclined to data log, just plug the Predator in and log away. It is cool. The warnings are about when you are downloading tunes, not when data logging.

Geez, so easy they don't mention that in the manual. Thanks, I'll play with it tonight...

Sorry, I hope my comment was taken in the spirit of a joke.

You mean the OBD fault codes? See http://www.kotzigpublishing.com/.

I'll ask my son (he works as a mechanic in the mornings) if these are available freely somewhere on the 'net. He get's off work about 1:30 eastern...

They're in the Ford Emmisions Control manual , which you can order from www.HelmInc.com ... They also have all the other ones , like the Shop Manual and etc ...

I am talking about on the graph screen. there are a bunch of modules you can turn on and display them in real time on the graph. One of them is AF ratio...which I guess is air fuel ratio. But there alot of others.

And I got the joke...it was funny

I see what you mean, AF Ratio isn't in the manual. Good question...

maybe I am wrong....about AF ratio. But RPM is one for sure. But I don't know what the others mean.

Yeah, the descriptions in the manual aren't that helpful--I'll ask my son what parameters he suggest I look at (an air fuel ratio being a top priority). I took the car around the block with some parameters selected, but the software for viewing the data is pretty rudimentary. The user interface leaves a lot to be desired, and there didn't appear to be any way to speed up the viewing of the data. It's abysmally slow.

so can anyone confirm that the predator does show a/f ratio in data logging mode?
if so without the use of a wideband 02 sensor will that reading be accurate?
