Pics of the MGW

Here are some pics of my MGW shifter w/ the new black ball shift ****. (Installed this about 3 weeks ago, but I haven't had any chances to post pics yet.)

Any thoughts of what I can do with this??

The shifter boot just sits on the **** without any support, I just want to secure it some way.(It's not like I'm gonna die if I don't fix it though)

When I first drove the car after I installed it, it felt more notchy than I thought it would be, but now it has loosened up real nice and is smooth now.

I would definately recommend this shifter to anyone thinking about replacing the stock unit.

That's a weird handle you have. Both the mgw handles I got had a fitting to hold the shift boot in place.

You're missing a grommet.

I love the look of these new shifter *****. Gonna get one myself. One question, does anyone out there know where I can get a replacement for the shifter boot? Mine has a hole in it where the block wore through.

I guess I am in the minority when I say that I really dig the factory shifter because it looks very European (and is used in the European Ford Transit van). However, the MGW shifter looks very retro and suits the late 60s style of the S197.

For a new boot you could try http://www.passionautomotivelv.com/

He is a little more expensive, but the boot comes with the plastic frame already installed (which is why it's more expensive).

Very nice leather too, and Dean offers other colors. I've got the parchment interior, and a boot to match.
