Any audio clips? I want to hear the blower, like the old Vortech's. If the Paxton is silent I don't want it.

You can hear the Paxton, but its not what I would call loud by anymeans. Checkout brenspeed.com for sound clips- I think there is some there.

K thanks. Can you compare it to an 03 CObra's stock eaton whine? I love that.

To tell the truth, I've never heard a stock Cobra! All the ones I've seen have had the bigger head unit installed, or swapped to a Kenne Bell.

Don't get me wrong, the Paxton is audible but it's not loud- or even as loud as I would like it to be. On the otherhand, the videos that I've heard of the Magnacharger sound cool but almost to the point of being too loud possibly, IMO.

Hey Gary, what do you think of the Magna compared to your Roush, in terms of sound?

Oh by the way, the forums love you right back!

They are close but the Magnacharger is louder in terms of volume. Personally I prefer the sound of the Roush over the Magnason because to me the Roush sounds more like a machine working where as the the Magnason sounds like it has a bit of "Whooooooopp" if you will but if volume and scalability is what you are looking for the Magnacharger is the way to go for the price (between those paticular 2). If you are conservative like myself and don't wany "any" issues with your warranty then the Roush is worth the investment. All depends on what you are looking for.

Correct me if I am wrong but I see Roots and Twin Screws are more "fun" for the around town kind of people but Centrifugals are better for the drag racers based on they don't lose as much traction off the line due to the boost scaling much higher in the RPM range?

I think you're right in your thinking, and also "more fun on the street" because the boost comes on at lower rpm. That was my thinking about a centri for the street and strip- on the street, even if you go WOT sometimes between shifts, you won't be getting into and then out of the boost as much because a centri is going to start making noticeable boost until around +2500rpm. Plus in my own situation, I'm pretty happy right now with how my car runs on the street; plus the 4.10 gears will help to get the car into that +2500rpm range quicker than normal. Then on the track, if I launch anywhere above 4000rpm (and don't bog), and then speed or power shift, I shouldn't notice the delay in boost much at all if any.

LOL Jim. I test drove a Saleen and it is fast however it is quiet, at least the one I drove. I used to have a Pontiac supercharged Grand Prix and the Saleen reminded me of that in terms of volume. One thing though, I have heard a couple of different times that with the right tune, the Saleen could be tuned to drop some serious HP. Can't confirm that though.

Oh OK, that's why I was confused- I didn't know they had an install shop. For you guys on the left coast, that's a bonus.

That's true, the Saleen can. But just about any brand on the market can be turned up enough to make your stock internals go..........

Darn, I thought there was an "explosion" smilie! Anyway, KABOOM is what I was trying to say lol!

I just got a quote from them for $5500 installed for the Magnacharger! Sounds pretty good to me! I am in SoCal so this is definately an option worth considering! What kind of numbers are people putting out with these kits ?
