Ordered The Spyder Drive Shaft Tonight

Looking forward to installing it and getting these mods out of the way now so I can do something bigger down the road.

Nice rich! I hope to have one someday. Too big of a price tag to ask for a birthday gift.

I just ordered the Coast Driveline driveshaft along with a BMR front loop.

Good luck with your install, I probably won't get to installing mine for another couple weeks.

Bill, post #7 has a good "how to" install on the Spyder shaft. I can't imagine that it would be that much different.

Good luck with your's. The Coast shaft is suppose to be a good piece too.

Bill and Rich- would both of you please let me know if there are any clearance issues between the shaft and the shifter.

Pretty sure that most of the manual trans guys on the S197 forum are using Pro5.0 shifters and I haven't heard of any issues.

Tom, I'm 99.9% sure that clearance won't be an issue with the 4" Coast.

Only interference may come from the the front safety loop during the 1-3-5 shift. I spoke to George (at MGW) about this and the shifter block moves up/down a 1/2" or so from fully turned in to the 10 turn max out (on the newly revised block). That amount of play could possibly be the difference between the block hitting the loop or not.

I'll know first hand what the deal is once the install goes down and will report back accordingly with pics.
