Okay Mgw Shifter Group Buy People Read This!!!!
i just got confirmation that i WILL have the remaining pieces shipping to me on friday and i WILL be shipping shifters out next week maybe tuesday or wednesday at the latest!!!
here are the final figures and details....
i am actually going to price this shifter 2 ways
1. shifter alone retail is $320.00 plus shipping ( group buy price 272.00 )
2. shifter with shift stops kit retail $335.00 ( group buy price 285.00)
( the shift stop kit is unlike any others on the market.) they are not simple bolts but actually stainless plates that slide along the top base cap. they are much easier to set and alot beefier. they also allow for a factory oem ford boot to cover the whole base assembly( which is included in the kit) i hate the factory boot on the 2005-2009 mustangs because they are such a pain to install. you will not have to use the stock boot with our setup). a t-handle allen wrench is also incliuded in the kit. i will post pics in this thread tomorrow.
the main reason i am making the shift stops and option is because they add costs to the shifter and i still believe that they are NOT needed. if you do not abuse your car they are not neccessary. so if you do not want them you should not have to pay and then just throw them away.
now to help get everyone prepared here is a list of what you should get ready to do the install.
1. access to a lift or ramps. ( lift STRONGLY suggested for ease of install)
2. a rachet set with some long extensions.
3. a 10mm DEEP well socket for the rear bracket nuts.
4. a 13mm 12 point wrench preferably a racheting type* or a 13mm socket
5. a 10mm 12 point wrench preferably a racheting type*.
6. a razor blade
7. a philips screw driver
*i have posted a pic of a racheting wrench below . these things are not pricey at all and REALLY make the install a breeze. you will only need a 10mm and a 13 mm size.

Great news George....Perhaps weekend after this will be install weekend
So, even though I gave my CC and shipping preference to your staff already, along with my thread preference, you will still be calling re the shift stops?? Or, would you prefer an E Mail with the additional info.....
Thanks from all of us,
Mike

I was going to say... if someone doesnt know what a wrench looks like, they need some serious help....
then noticed you were posting a wrench that not everyone thinks about...
those are very very handy for more than just a shifter install... endlinks come to mind as well.

Yeah, so what is considered abuse? Dragstrip a few times a year, other than that, hardly ever a hard slam in the gears.
Abuse like turning the shift **** 90 degrees after slamming into 3rd gear?

when i say abusae i mean not knowing that the shift lever is in gear and still trying to pull the shift **** thru the back glass
i have seen alot of people try to shift fast and think that by gorilla arming the shifter they can shift faster. if the gates are not aligned ( i.e. you missed the gear) you cannot FORCE the car to get into gear. just back off and accept that you missed it and start again.
i cannot answer the question of who needs the stops and who does not . that is something you guys will have to decide. i know that i have driven our 2005 gt HARD HARD HARD!!!! without the stops and have had no problems at all.

If we do not get the shift stops, do we still get a new boot from you. Or, is that what the razor blade is for...to cut some of the factory boot?

George, would you clarify the boot issue. I'm assuming your talking about the inner rubber boot, not the outer pleather one.

the razor blade is for the "special" extras in the kit i do not like doing any hokey fitting of parts which is why i threw the factory boot out in my design. even if you do not get the stops which is my preferred setup you WILL get a rubber boot. this will be again a COMPLETE clean professional kit install.
i MAY have the mgw bushings by next week. MAY!!
