My buddy has some nice 5 spoke silver wheels on his 350z that he is thinking of replacing. It has the same bolt pattern as the mustang so my only question is how would the different sizes affect my car? The fronts are 225/45/18 (26") and the rear are 245/45/18 (26.7"). The rims are light weight and I think would look really nice on a stang. Any thoughts or comments would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I think you will be OK. It's only a 2.7% difference between the front and back, so I think the ABS will be happy.

That's nothing. Don't worry about it.

I have 255/50s up front and 275/50s in the back... no problems.

BTW... don't forget to verify the backspacing of those other wheels... they may not work for you.

These are the specs of the rims: 18"x8.5"+25 (front) 18"x9.5"+30 (rear). Is the backspacing the +25 and +30? Do these seem like they will fit? At least he's local so I can try before I buy.

With those offsets, they may stick out of the wheelwell slightly. You may want to put them on and take a look before you decide.

Thanks for the info. I certainly don't want the wheels to stick out.

What about the speedo? Its hooked up to the front wheels, right? Those are over an inch smaller than stock which will show that I am going faster than I actually am, right?

You need a tuner (Predator or SCT) to change the speedo (based on rear tire size)

stock offset is like 44 mm, so like was said above, particularly the fronts at 25 mm, might stick out more than you or the car likes.
