I have read the threads on these, but I am fuzzy on a couple of issues.

1) Do I absolutely need new engine mounts to get these to fit properly. If so, it's a deal breaker as I have a Shaker and do not want to drop the motor for obviou reasons.

2) Are the O2 sensor holes already tapped? I thought I read there was only one, which is confusing.

 

Well I am "almost" an owner since mine are in transit. But I helped Aircare84 (Larry) install his and I can answer all your questions. You absolutely can keep the stock motor mounts. He did. Both Larry and I also have the CDC shakers on our cars also. I have the Prothane mounts ordered for mine and understand they keep the stock engine height. As far as the O2 sensors go the headers have a threaded bung on each header for the front O2 sensors. You do not use the rears at all. You will have to get O2 entenders to make the wiring reach though. Hope this helps.

He used the bullet style but I think he is going to change it to the straight pipe in the future.

 

Last question. I just pulled the trigger and ordered them. Where can I get the O2 extenders? Will I need mil eliminators also, or will just turning the sensors off in the tune prevent codes and CELs?

 

I think Scott and Larry both got their O2 extensions from Brenspeed.

 

Tom is right. Brenspeed has them. You will not need mil eliminators because the tune has the rear O2 sensors turned off.

Comes with two h-pipes. One with resonators and one without.

My suggestion for the H-pipes would be if you're running straight-thru mufflers(stingers,Pypes mid-muffler, etc) use the H with resonators. If you have chambered-style mufflers, use the straight-thru H.

I have been out working on striping the exhaust,battery and box, starter, and manifold studs off my car getting ready for my install. The headers are in-transit...should be here on 1/2/08. Should be a quick install on mine... I'll buy breakfast.....you know where!!!

Man...Aircare84, you're making me second guess myself on which H to use. I've got GTA's for mufflers. Any thoughts on what the difference in sound would be between the resonator pipes vs the straight thru's?? I want it loud enough to 'show off', but so loud I wake everyone up on my way to work. I drive about 2 miles thru residential neighborhoods to get to work at 5 in the morning. Suppose I could start with the resonators, then plan one day to switch just to expirement.....Hmmmm

 

Naaa...go for it. Use the straight thru pipes. You can always back down if you need too..
