Under 60 mph, Off... Over 60 mph, On

Why?

Because I don't want to lugging around in 5th at 35 mph when driving around town.

In town I turn it off. On highway leave it on. Our city speed limit is thirty, and I can believ the thing stays in fifth @ 30. This is my first Automatic Mustang, and it is taking me a little getting used to. Witht eh five speeds, I would never go up to fifith until 40-45, and preferred 3rd to 4th @ 25

Do not use OD around town or at lower speeds or any stop and go driving. Your trans. will build more heat. Heat is not good. There is nothing to gain from it anyway. I have a good friend who owns a trans. shop and he and many other trans. guys state that using OD all the time and not changing fluid and filter are the death of modern OD trans.

I guess I have been naive all this time, because I hardly ever turn mine off. I do a LOT of stop and go rush hour driving, so I will have to remember to turn it off from now on.

I usually just leave OD on.

Why doesn't the CPU decide if it should be on or off?
