NSR Cam tune update.

I cleaned the TB and MAF thinking that could be the problem. I installed my Brooksspeed tune which is not even for cams. According to Eric Brooks, a tune is not needed for these cams. The car ran great. No CEL yet. I went ahead and re-installed AM 91 race tune and right way the car would buck while driving in the parking lot. I even got the wrench light. I parked the car and re-installed the brooksspeed tune and once again no problems. The car pulls hard.

sounds like a corrupt tune. by AM i'm assuming you mean American Muscle. I thought they got their tunes from BamaTunes.

No matter, ask whoever you got your original tune from to re-create it from scratch and upload it to your car. should fix the issue.

I didn't even think about the tune being corrupt. I am sure American Muscle can fix the problem.

Yeah my thought exactly. It is tune related. I am running the exact same cams with a Brenspeed tune and don't have any of those issues.

Mild cams generally don't need cam timing or injector adjustments. When you move to stage 3 cams or more with limiters or lockouts, it can make a pretty big difference. My SPR stage IIs (Comp 127500) with no tuning pulled 12.4s all day long, when cam timing was adjusted at the track it pulled much harder and I got two back to back 12.1 runs. In 85* weather.

I'm curious: 5 sp or auto?

AM/Bama sent me a new 87 street tune to test before they will send me the 91 race and 91 performance. I have to say that I am impressed with this tune. Lots of tq down low. I can't wait for the two 91 tunes.
