Not sure what to get next
I dynoed 402/473 a few days ago on the dyno and I'm not sure what to mod next. I just basicly want 20-30 more hp. I heard headers don't add much, I've heard throttle bodies add maybe 1hp. Maybe underdrive pullies?
Here's my mod list....
Magnaflow catted xpipe
magnapacks
centerforce DF clutch
K&N exhaust
bmr lower control arms
bmr lowering springs
bmr adjustable panhard rod
nitto dr's on 18x10 wheels
Zex 125 shot

Great numbers Shifty. A word of caution however, on your fuel system. When I was on the dyno with the 125, A/F looked great at 11.5-11.8. But at the track the car leaned out on the big end. Since then I have gone with a BAP. I know Cleveland did an extensive fuel system upgrade, and I know Blazing saddles had a similar problem with the 125. Do you have any fuel system upgrades? If you do, then perhaps a CAI with Xcal 2? You probably have that but I didn't see it on the list. How about a alumium 1 piece driveshaft? Or weight reduction? (Especially rotational weight)
I agree with you on the throttle body and CMD plates, the benefits certainly are not worth $300-$400. But I would think that as you modify the engine more, and on the N20, you would certainly benefit from the headers more than a stock motor would. Oh, and one more thing....I noticed you have the lowering springs, do you have the relocation mounting brackets for the LCA's so they are at the right angle?

I meant K&N intake sorry. Yeah I have the xcal2. I thaught I was going to have the same fuel pressure problems but on the dyno they turned out fine and I was even a little richer than you. We tuned it to be rich. We also checked the plugs after the dyno run and they looked good. I don't have the relocation brackets, how much will those help my times?
The BMR website can explain it better then I can, here is the link:

Here is a picture of the bracket, which maintains the correct geometry after your car has been lowered, so you still hook. If you look at the picture, you can see that the front of the LCA which is connected to the body would drop when you lower the car. To keep the LCA at the correct angle, the mounting point for the rear of the LCA (which is connected to the rearend) needs to be lowered to.
And as far as the a/f: mine on the dyno looked good also. I can only assume the difference is I spray right out of the hole, and spray the entire run. On the dyno it was just a one gear pull, not a full pass. Anyway, if you have a fuel pressure gauge, stare at it on the big end....

I don't know where you heard that headers don't help much, but they helped a lot on my car. I went with the 1 3/4" LT headers by Stainless Works.
I really need to get to the track, I have a chance to show off by taking lead over the nitrous pack. Im 2 weeks out for my next chance.
Anyways, if you plan to use the nitrous and have the ***** to go "big" on the stock bottom end, 125 (to the tires) is about the new safe limit IF you upgrade something in the fuel system. For me this was ditching the underhood hose and stock fuel rails for what I now have. HT0 plugs are a must also anything over a 75 shot to the wheels.
I may just push to 150 since I got over my fear of the 125 but I will HAVE TO use that progressive ramp to control the torque output, 500+ otherwise.
Anyways, if you want to meet your power goal just install Long Tube headers and that by itself will square you away.

long tubes are full length all the down to the framerails. I can attest to atleast 10 hp more at peak with my Hookers over the stock logs. Shorties dont net you much, perhaps a horsepower or two.
And Im aware of the fact that Zex measures at the crank, I was just being very clear with my post with that whole "(to the tires)" comment.

I will be watching for that! I am going to CA Dragway on April 22nd (as long as its dry) for my attempt into the 11's. If you can put the power down, combined with the excellent DA at Sacramento, you just might be in the 11.60's or even lower. My track that I normally race at (LACR) is 2710, but CA Dragway is 1100, plus I won't have fuel issues....so I am hoping for 11.90's.
One more thing, FAMOSO has already been enforcing some new rules, including the fire jacket required for ANY car (no matter how fast or slow) which has a NON-OEM power adder, like N20. The jacket has to meet SFI 3.2A/1 specs. If you are faster than 11.49, then I think its SFI 3.2A/5, but I guess that wouldn't matter because you would get kicked off for not having a rollbar---which I think would make you happy because that would be an impressive time slip!!
Shifty, when are you going to the track?

Will long pipes have trouble with my magnaflow catted xpipe? I'm goin to the track next weekend after I put on my window switch tonight.
