New Tune

I just had a chance to try out Doug's New 93 oct. tune. Wow, the car hauls a$$, I nearly lost it at one point, I pulled out from a side road onto the main road and nailed it, the rear end swung sideways I had to let off the gas. I tried it again from a stop the car pulls big time thru all the gears. The tune seems be be a combination of the tq. tune and the perf. race tune, if that makes sense. There is an improvement over his regular 93 perf. tune, more power thoughout, 0-6,000 rpm.

Man, I hear ya. Doug should put "warning" messages on his tunes. Something like "This aint your grandma's tune anymore....be careful"
or "Use at your on risk" or "This tune will get you a ticket".

Yeah you do have to be careful at "stops" and at going around corners from a stop. The car will go sideways on ya. Now thats not all that bad as long as you have 3 or 4 lanes to recover from going sideways.

The next step is to try out the 93 Octane Race Tune. For a daily driver its pretty radical.............and a lot of fun. Add the PH Aluminum DS and some LCA's and some of this and that and little more of this and that, oh man..............I'm start'in to get a woody.

Gotta go

I just installed my C&L and dougs' 93 tunes on saturday.. i'm extremely happy. I love the Race Tune its the perfect combo of the best of the torque tune plus maybe a little more at the bottom end, and the best of the performance tune at the top end. my car sounds so much better when i'm getting on it now.

Yes, this is his newest 93 oct. tune for the a/t, I had the race tune before but this tune is different, the gas pedal is not as touchy, but you still have a good response. It seems to pull hard all the way through the rpm's. His other tunes were geared for either low or high rpm range's. He can also reset when your o/d kicks in if you want him to, I left mine alone, but he can set it all the way up to 60 mph if you want him too.

I don't think that works right or the function does not allow OD to be turned off completely under 60 mph. I tested it and if you let off the gas for over a second idling along it still shifts into OD when below 60. If you are giving it any gas at all, even just feathering it will stay in 4th. But if you idle cruise for a second or two it goes into OD. Then as soon as you give it gas it shifts down to 4th, making the shifts between OD and 4th excessive.

I also upgraded my 93 perf tune for my automatic and indeed the tune is very impressive. Does it get a better than Dougs tunes and cool New York air. Yea ha.

From everything I've read, Doug is the man when it comes to tunes. I had initially not wanted to get a tuner due to warranty concerns, but after reading that you can swap back to stock and the dealership cant tell if you drive the car long enough beforehand so it can adjust to new parameters(is that true?) If so, then yes I'll probably be getting a tuner from him. I'm curious to see what he posts about the GMS CAI. Hopefully it's good news.

I just tried out Doug's new 92torq tune as well...It is a big improvment from his previous tune (not that there was anything wrong with the previous tune but the new one is even better). I had him change my OD shift to 52mph because I thought 60 was a little high. After trying it out I have found out that maybe 60 for the OD shift point might be about right. I am having Doug send me new tune files with the OD shifting at 60. Hopefully I can try that out tonight.

Just thought I would throw in my 2cents worth.

It can't be said enough times...Doug's tunes are awesome.
