New Strut Brace in Town/clears engine cover!

Well Hope you all like, this looks like what weve been waiting for or at least me.

Looks like I am going to be spending more money, now with BMR. There suspension stuff looks high quality. I had not noticed this before on there site, and I have not seen a post on this one. BMR has a stb just for the engine covered cars. Looks Nice as well. I have heard good things about the BMR stuff, Might have to make the rest of the suspension stuff BMR! well here it is, might be a few weeks before I have one,LOL!

I'd be surprised if that doesn't rub the hood liner.

I've got the Steeda strut brace, and it hits rubs the hood liner, and isn't even really made to go over the factory engine cover (at least, without some custom work):

so, I can't imagine the BMR one, which is specifically made to clear the cover, NOT rubbing.

That is great news!

I have been looking for a bar that wont rub the cover. Looks like this is the one for me!

Thanks!

My thoughts exactly. If it clears the plenum cover, its gonna rub on the hood liner.
Mine actually rubs on both a little, lol.

My hood liner rubs my plenum cover so I would think the plenum cover would be protected by a strut brace.

My hood pad was damaging the cover. I added the granatelli single brace and that worked out well. It clears the cover after I lowered it a bit in the back per the popular mod going around. It put a slight mark on the hood pad but nothing horrible

Well just like ingalls engineering brace they made it flat instead of round, I think that is the trick to not rubbing on the cover or hood liner, but wont know until I get one I guess. Either way I can always get rid of the hood liner and have it painted. So If it clears the cover were all good. I will let you all know when I get one. See ya.

p.s. well blog that makes no sense. No where near the same price, nor do they do the same thing. Is there some reason you cant have both, especially turbos, I know some of the superchargers are having some issues, and there are various bars that clear those, but as far as the turbo its way up front at least the ones I am looking at. Is there some reason you think this will get in the way. 100 something dollars versus, 6000. HHmmmmmmmmm I think I will spend the 100 something first, LOL. But the 6000 aint too far off either , LOL.

I likes! As for the rubbing I would rather it rubbed the hood liner than the cover.

My Strut Tower Brace fits over the engine cover. Although I did have to put some washers under the brace to make it clear and it does rub on the hood blanket.

Anybody remove the hood liner? Are there any issues to be concerned with - heat from the engine damaging the paint on the hood? The hood liner is rubbing on my engine cover so I need to either get a strut tower brace or remove the hood liner.

Getting stiffer motor mounts that drop the engine abit is the best solution. The guys do this to have the steeda S/C clear the hood.

I just went with the BMR K member that has the mounts built in

Hood liner is for sound proofing. Should be no heat problems removing it!

Supposedly the Steeda V6 strut brace clears the engine cover for both the V6 and GT.

Doesn't make much sense to me, but whatever...

That is because the V6 intake runners are longer.. So the plenum sits higher
