I have had my car for around 7000 miles. I drive back and forth on the interstate from college to home. A few weeks ago on the trip home, I also noticed this strange drop after driving for around 30 minutes +, and it always happened when switching from 5th cruise to 4th to pass. The strange thing is this complete stutter happens at around 70-80 mph when I first shift down and hit the gas. This problem bothers me alot, and I dont even have a performance tune or anything. I really hope someone comes up with a solution soon

I remember Doug @ 'Bama talking about something like this in the threads. He had to 'eliminate' a spike ~ 4800 RPM while testing autos on the dyno. I'll check all his threads again. Maybe I'll ask him to address this issue in this forum.

Add me to the list with the problem. Same thing - cruising along on the highway for awhile, get off the highway and at the end of the off-ramp it does the hesitation. My car is stock too.

Now how can we get Ford to look at this thread? Does Brad have any connections or anything?

I am glad to see that I am not the only one with this problem. I recently posted something about this problem and somebody sent me this link. I hope that ford will find an answer to this problem
