New to mustang's ...any into would be great
Well last saturday (4-14) I bought a used 05 gt torch red premium 5 spd....the previous owner must have taken GREAT care of it cause its in GREAT condition with only 14K miles .
Im not really looking to make the GT fast...i just want it to sound nice...have decent power and not make me feel dissapointed when i get on the gas....i have a 2004 srt-4 with turbo and nitrous upgrades making 480whp on last dyno as a "conservative" tune.....I bought the gt out of a spur of the moment decision and dont regert it one bit....its tons of fun to drive and i really enjoy the RWD feeling.
When i bought the car it had what i THOUGHT was a intake...but after taking off the filter it looks to be the stock airbox cut and looks like he used part of it (where the sensor plugs in) and added a large cone filter to it. I recently purchased and installed Pypes O/R h pypes and am no looking at getting a tuner.
My question.....Is it worth spending money to buy a new intake or should i just get a tuner and keep it as is?
also should i go with a bamachips predator aor sct-2?

The most expensive part of the CAI and tune is the tuner, and since you are already looking at getting a tuner, I say go for the intake as well. JLT makes a good cheap intake that is pretty popular. As for the type of tuner...thats a personal preference and I don't really think it would matter because they both do the same thing, just different user interface.

Alex... Welcome aboard...
If you have a digital camera and could take a pic and post it here, it would help a lot... I believe there are a couple of CAI's that use an airbox that looks similar to the stock one, like I said, a pic would help a lot.
Bamachips is very good with tunes for these S-197 stangs..
