Can you supply a link, please. Is it Ford racing that has this block? It says it for the 2003/2004 Cobra. What does it take to install in a 05/07?

I don't think those 4V pistons will work with 3V heads, but maybe they will come out with a 3V version.

Sean Hyland Motorsports has a bare 4.6 aluminum block for $999. Not clear how interchangable it is.

No! No! No! You want the best - CAST IRON to more closely replicate the Shelby!

I think he is saying it is designed for the 4valve heads on a cobra, not are 3 valve heads we have on the regular 05+gt's. In other words, compression, timing of valves to pistons etc. I am sure there are a lot of variables when going from a block designed for 4 valves instead of 3. If you got money, it will work, LOL. I personally would find a good builder and have them build you a block to your specifications etc. Personally in such a new car I dont want to have to mod everything to get it to work. I want plug and play, with some mods of course. I am still trying to figure out if I want a supercharger or a turbo. It seems the turbo's are much more upgradeable as your desire for hp grows. Are the turbo's winning the hp war? But the block sure looks nice.

Yes, 4V-specific pistons with two valve reliefs on the exhaust side vs. one in the center for the 3V head. There could be valve to piston clearance problems as a result. It looks like a nice piece for '03/'04 Cobra owners who want to drop some weight off of the nose.

I believe the bore diameter and stroke is exactly the same on all 4.6 motors. So is it as simple and changing out the pistons to 3V forged??

Wink My plan is to.....

Purchase just the block (M-6010-A46SC) then add:
Ford Cobra 8-Bolt Forged Crank
4340 H-Beam Forged Rods
ARP rod bolts and head studs
Custom Forged pistons w/ 3v reliefs cut on them &
thermal coating on the piston domes to help control detonation
CompCams Stage IV

Followed by either a Whipple Supercharger or Kenne Bell 2.4L Supercharger.
