Dustin,
They are a little louder than stock, I'm not sure if they will set off alarms, but they will definitely let people know you are coming. The huge difference between the Flowmasters and stock is that the Flowmasters have a deep aggressive tone at lower RPMs and throughout the rest of the powerband. It definitely has the signature Flowmaster sound that either people love it or hate it. I love the "drone" that everyone seems to hate. It just makes it all that more throaty and like a muscle car. The only thing I dont like about them is they dont sound quite like the Flowmaster 40 series mufflers do on 2004 on back 4.6's. Maybe it is because they are axle backs, and they dont have a tailpipe, just the little tip. I'm not sure, but I am definitely satisfied with them. I get a lot of comments on how good it sounds. And also, it did seem to give my car a bit of an increase in low end power. At first the car seemed to fall flat on its face, but then after looking on this great forum, some guys said you have to disconnect the battery so the computer will reset for the new flow. With that in mind, I think anyone who reads this will really like the new Flowmasters. I am very satisfied with them.

i am very pleased with the sound. i have set off a few alarms when i have started my car. it is funny when you hear the car start, alarm goes off and then leave. it almost looks like you are getting out of there because you did something.

$600!!! I took my stock mufflers off, drove around, and put them back on in about an hour and a half. There sholdn't be any parts cost, all the kits I've seen are complete... That's one expensive labor rate.

Although, I also read that someone's dealer charged them $20 to install the anit-theft lugnuts!

On second thought, that $600 must've included the cost of the mufflers.

The way one of the sales men put it they took the new GT down they took off the new exhaust and then put the flow master system in so shed have about 10 % more HP and the cost was up to $ 600.00 and BTW I know nothing about if it would be good or bad for the engine but if a DEALER had the job farmed out it must be ok ?

Mufflers wont be here till Tuesday, per UPS and the place I bought it from said. Hopefully if I get enough time after work on Tuesday I'll throw them on, if not, it'll be a project for the weekend.

I got them installed yesterday and I could not be more pleased. These are WAY louder than stock. I was doing about 80mph and as I contiued to step on the gas all you could here was the rummble. The tips look awesome. I got mine for 299.99 and installation was 50.00. The car sounds like it is breathing and that is the effect that I wanted. We have Mustangs, make them sound like them.

I installed my flowmasters 2 weeks ago and still drive around with my windows down and radio off. The day after I installed them, I was pulling into a parking log and the attendant said "man, that thing sounds healthy!" Healthy indeed, it can breath! B)
