This may be a little off topic, but can someone explain what DA is? I've seen it mentioned when talking about drag racing before, but I don't have a clue as to what it stands for.

Yea, know that I think of it,you probably would need like 2:73's to cross the line in 3rd with that power lol.

Awesome runs tom281, did you go to muncie dragway. It's looks like the m&h 28inch tall drag radial is definatley the way to go, it will bring that 4.10 gear down to about 3.90's range. With the 26inch tall dr you were running at the track effectively increased your gearing from 4.10 to a 4.30 gear which is too much for your boosted setup. Although, shorter gears do help cars with centrifugal blowers get into the boost alot sooner, but an overall 4.30 gear is just to much gear.

Hi Chris- thanks for the input. Yes, it was at Muncie.

I have some vids, I'll try to post later tonight.

wow i can't bleive that the smaller tires and 4.10 make end of 4th gear at 114mph. Looks like a taller tire is in order.

FWIW... I'm running 4.10s and 28" slicks at the track, and I'm in 4th gear before I hit the 1/8 mile point. But, since I could run up to 130mph (at 6400rpm) in 4th, I see no need to change gearing anytime soon... 130 will be plenty for my 1/4-mi endeavors. That would be good enough for a low 10-sec ride.

Wow what a difference. I can hit ~104mph at the top of 3rd (6200rpm)with the stock 3.55s on 285/40-18s, and tom281 was only a few mph faster (108) in 4th at 6400rpm. Man that really shows the difference between those gears. Nice run Tom!

After reviewing some vids, I hit 115 mph at the finish line in 4th while approaching 6500 rpm but my ET was only 12.8 'cause I spun in 1st and 2nd at launch. I think that on my 12.4 run my MPH would probably have been atleast 114 or so had I not hit the limiter before the finish line, and therefore the 12.4 ET might have been 12.3 or 12.2.

Maybe you just shouldn't comment on every thread that is posted and go get a girlfriend~

Sounds like fun Tom!

Nice times Tom, just takes practice to get that 60 ft. time down, its alot of power to control. I have some work to do also hopefully will get a 11.6 or 11.7 next time out. Brent said he went 11.9, what was his speed ?

I'll have to check some vids and see if my wife caught the board on any of his passes..... I know his first pass of the day, right off the street, was 11.9 and I think it was around 118mph but again I'll have to double check that mph.
