Looking to buy me a new 2006 Mustang GT in about two months. As soon as i get the car i am dropping some cash into mods. Want at least 400HP but would like to have 450ish HP. Looking at a supercharger with blower and borla cat back exaust. Would like to do the whole exaust, headers etc. Would love to hear some good setups to get in this range. I want to build it right so i dont have problems down the road. All cars have problems but i mean the serious ones. They said that the stock motor in the GT can handle around 550ish HP, so they say that 450ish i would fine with the stock engine. Goal is around 12sec or 13sec 1/4mile time. Please any ideas and setups would be appreciated. If any of you live in Colorado, would love to hear some good shops also.

ok vince, I will assume you are a total newbie at this, which is fine, you came to the right place.

first of all, whoever "they" were that told you that our cars are good for 550hp was on crack. I suggest you read some of the threads in this forum, especially the N2O vs superchargers one. our rods cant take much stress.

our cars stock will run mid 13s in the quarter. so you have met that goal already. with intake, tuner, gears, pulleys and exhaust, and real wheels, you can get into the 12s.

 

So if i was to drop the supercharger i would be in the 13's. Gettin into the 12's would that be putting stress on the car? If you could link it that would be great. Im going to be honest not so good at the search button.

 

you will be in the 13s the second you drive it off the dealers lot. basic mods that I listed can get you into the high 12s if you know how to drive.

If you push your motor higher than 400 rwhp your motor is going to grenade, plain and simple.
