need engine tuning for higher rpm's?
#1
the next question for higher speeds:
Some guy from a german mustang-forum mails me: The american V8 is not build for permanent high rpm's. is it for real?
He drives a saleen police interceptor with over 470 HP and tuned 5.7 ltr. race engine and says he never goes over 110 mph. He think its to much for the engine and dangerous too (i don't know this model, but i think it's an older one). He whrites to: The stang is a cruiser, not a sportscar like bmw or porsche.
The next thing, he whrites: When i wanna drive permanent high speeds and rpm's, i have to blueprint my V8 What means blue printing?
What's Your opinion, i can't belive it. I think that's right for the older models, but for the new 2005 mustang?
I often read the new pony has european standarts.

Blah, the mod motor will run all day at like 4 grand. Just make sure your cooling system is in good shape and you're running synthetic oil, and you can rip along in overdrive like a madman!
How fast do you want to go, anyway? Here's 5th gear info w/stock gearing and tires.
RPM MPH

3200 107
3300 111

I think some germans have their problems with american cars (maybe when they ride one too).

My 302 Boss in my 69 mach one was blueprinted and balanced. Basically, when this is done (all internal motor parts fit perfect and are balanced), it is awesome. I could rev her up to 6000+rpm and the engine would not move! (i.e no rocking side to side from the torque) God I miss that car! Acceleration was awesome as you go from idle to WOT extremely fast. I have looked at my motor in the GT when it is running and had someone gas it - trust me, these motors are nowhere near balanced, not bad, but not balanced. That procedure is expensive.
