need advice automatic guys, going to track on wed.

Just picked up an 05 gt, so I'm gonna hit the track for the first time in an automatic mustang. Ive owned 3 manual mustangs, and have alot of experience at the track with launching and shift points yada yada, but I'm kinda worried about my newfound lack of control.

I've searched this site and all over the web, and still havent found a preferred method to launching the auto. Some say brake torque, others say just shock the converter and stomp it. Also, I've also read that alot of guys are getting better times leaving the O/D on in the 1/4, whats up with that? I know for me the traction control will be shut off, but what other tips can you guys give me about the auto.

Also, I'm trying to get my girl impressed with this car with good stock numbers, what should I expect as far as times? 13.8-14.0 good driver? My car is stock basically, I just have a set of flowmasters and a brand new set of 18" bfg g force tires. Dealer gave em to me free with the rim swap, so hopefully they grip.

I've got close to 200 runs at the track in my auto and I've tried all the different methods you mentioned. In the end turning off the tcs and o/d while launching at idle is what's produced my best and most consistent times. With that said do your self a favor and get an intake and tune it really helps wake up the auto tranny. As far as times I wouldn't know but my car ran 8.8-9.0 1/8 miles with intake/tune and O/R H. Since then I've added UDP's and CMDP's and dropped down to 8.6s.

TCS + OD off.

Braking hard. 2000 RPM. a little after the 3rd yellow release the brake. Floor it.

CAI+93 Tune+ UDP+4.10+Corsa+Nitto 555 = 1.90/8.26/12.90

Well making my hour and a half trip to the track, and about 45 minutes into it, it starts to pour. Needless to say, track closed, gotta wait till next time.
