My tuner track tests his KB-blown '05

My tuner (Adam at ST Motorsports) took his KB-blown 05 to an 1/8 track last night and ripped off a 7.2 at 98mph (that would equate to about an 11.2 in the 1/4)!!! That is with stock exhaust and stock gears... just drag tires and a blower. Here is a Link to his post
I can't wait to get mine installed next weekend!!

Wow.
{smokes cigarette}
Wow. If I ever get an 05, sweet mother...
Just think what could happen with forged internals...
Holy blower swap boostman, 5.4 to the moon and back!!
I must ask again, is it a sin to mod a shelby? - assuming of course that someday I can get one!!!!!

Do you have to follow IHRA safety rules at your track? If they did he would need a cage in that car.

Most of the tracks around here are NHRA-affiliated (if any). I have never been to the the track he ran at (Irwindale)... so I don't know what rules they have. But, I have know the roll bar requirement is set at 11.49/7.19 at other tracks in SoCal. Irwindale may enforce that as well. If so, then 7.20 would be just high enough to avoid it.

OK... here we go. This is video of two of Adam's runs at the Irwindale 1/8-mile track on Thursday, 1/12/06. Other than the KB blower (and upgraded clutch), this is a stock GT. Enjoy!!
Adam's runs at Irwindale
This one is from Fontana (1/4-mile) on Saturday, 1/14/06. Because he doesn't have a roll bar, he lifted off the throttle after half track, and hit the brakes hard before the finish line to keep from going too fast. The result was a 12.30 @ 72mph... haha, gotta love that trap speed for a 12.30 run!!

What happened, hasn't he already run 7.20???
Maybe i am missing something or confused, but did he slow down???
That car is still crazy fast. I love the first little burnout/jump at the short track!

The first 1/8-mi run on the Irwindale video was the 7.24 run I mentioned in post #1. On the Fontana 1/4-mi run in the second video, he did slow down at the end of the track. He didn't want to run too fast because he didn't have a roll cage. The rules require a roll cage for 11.49 and under. :nono:
And yea, that dry hop is pretty cool.

Sweet jumpin jehosefat!!
Don, I just watched your "Open header" video, your car sounds amazing!
I have to imagine that it is much louder sounding in person based on the car alarms in the video...
That may be the best exhaust set-up I've heard yet...
And that car grips!!! Your wife (I'm guessing here) looks like she can hold it down pretty well...My wife would kill me or herself in a car like yours!!!
Very nice work...now get that KB installed and get some new vids
This is me in utter and complete jealousy.

Yea, the open headers were amazing. It was 10x louder in person than on the video. And my wife has seen some track time, so she's not intimidated.

BTW, have you ever dynoe'd that thing???
I guessing 350 rwhp??? I don't really know what I'm talking about, so i won't be surprised when dead wrong!

One dyno done a long time ago... and it was done wrong. I'll probably get a baseline dyno before we install the blower.
