My final Whipple Numbers w/ intercooler
Doug tuned my car today and the final numbers are:
400 rwhp, 438 torque This is a little lower than I had hoped for, but the car feels great and I'm just glad I broke the 400 mark. For those interested in a Whipple here are my numbers as they progressed over the last year and a half.
Base line stock run - 256 rwhp
After adding low output (non-intercooeld Whipple) w/ 8lb pulley -
344 rwhp, 345 torque
Adding intercooler only (not changing tune) - 355 rwhp, 380 torque
Whipple w/ intercooler and 12lb pulley w/ final tune by Doug -
400 rwhp, 438 torque.
I have had a lot of questions about the Whipple and the intercooler. I hope this answers those questions. I know people are going to think 400 rwhp is a low number, but Doug tweaked it every way he could and this was we could get out of her. I'm happy with the way the car runs and feels and I can't thank Doug enough for coming back to Oklahoma and tuning some cars and Blake if you are reading this thank you for all your help with the pulley swap and the spark plug help!

I would like to examine the datalog file(s). Specific parameters I'd like to see are:
Load
MAF Volts
MAF Counts
STFT (to see the commanded A/F ratios)
Air Charge Temp
Engine Coolant Temp
Spark Advance
Spark Source
Borderline Spark
MBT Spark
Open / Closed Loop Flag
FP Across Injectors
Knock Sensor Noise (both banks)
rpm
Vehicle Speed
I'd like to see most, if not all, these values because something just doesn't seem right. Ya see, my former Whippled '05 GT felt significantly stronger than my stock GT500. And from what I've read on other sites, guys who have dynoed stock '08 GT500s are seeing 440-450 hp. I suspect I was getting at least 470 rwhp with my GT....
Rob, did you relocate your inlet air temp sensor? This is a critical change that should be done on all screw type blowers. My gut feeling is this wasn't done and your spark advance is way too retarded.... that you're not benefitting from the addition of the IC and cooler inlet temps. FYI, the power increase with an IC comes from advancing the timing due to lower air temps in the combustion chamber.

Rob and Blake
Just want to thank you guys for the help and especially getting Doug to OKC, had a good time and am pleased with the results and driveability of the car
See you soon,
Bob

It may have been the dyno, who knows? I'd like to think so, but if not I'm still happy with the car and the tune. Being able to say my car made 425 to 450 would be nice for my signature and all, but in the end it all matters how the car feels and that I have a safe tune, so no complaints here.
Yeah, they were all done on the same dyno. The 06 with the turbo dynoed right around 445-450........I can't remember the exact numbers. If Blake reads this he can post the turbo's numbers.

Id have it dynoed some place else before we throw Doug under the buss. I agree at 12 psi he should be right at 500 if not more.
that's interesting, my HP/TQ ratio is opposite of yours. I made 445hp and 405tq (larger injectors, 10psi, dyno tune, auto trans). Wonder if the headers did that? I have stock exhaust accept for mufflers.

nem - I have followed the project Milf articles closely and was hoping for similar numbers. That night Blake, Doug and I discussed that exact article over dinner and it is completely possible that the magazine inflated those numbers.........they have done it before.
2L8IWON - it is a dynojet.
Here is a photo of the dyno sheet. I can't seem to get it to scan. Disregard the Alternative Motorsports header at the top.......just the name of the shop that had the dyno. Also some pics of the cars.

Hey Rob,
I would agree that your numbers do seem a little low but all what is important is how she feels and drives and are you happy with the results. Those torque numbers of yours should make her feel like she has a big block in her!!!!!!!!

Rob when you get a chance can you post up some more pics/video perhaps over on the BMMC page? or here I know some of the members would like to see some of the goings on from yesterday. Thanks
