haha here we go again. Ill leave my style opinion out.

What most i am hearing is it forces cooler air NEXT to the air filter? (for those of us with aftermarket intakes). When looking at TB's pictures, the bends are killing the airflow. The placement (a long stip of piping) over the headers probably kill any cooler air making it into the system. Hottest part of an engine bay is right above the headers. Also, at 80-100+mph people are saying cold air gets shoved in the shaker system. Do you have any idea how much cold air is coming into the engine bay from the grill and under the front bumper? I can tell you is a ton more than the shaker system is putting into the bay. Just some things to think about.

Please tell me you read each and every post before posting this. We are no longer talking about forced air.

I proved the shaker sucked air (in a closed system). It's also common sense that the scoop gets filled with cold air when driving. This air is the air getting sucked into the engine. Bill's (and any other CAI) won't suck air through the scoop since it isn't a closed system. Unless the seal around the shield completely seals to the hood and all the way around it.

That's all. I don't give a shiat about the air going through the grill. That's not going into the engine. I care about air in the fenderwell, and air in the scoop - the engine gets both (I proved it, remember?).

I'm not trying to battle here, but don't argue common sense with me... I'll win.

Didn't I already mention that?

What's a stip? ... j/k
You're a genius! Of course it's the hottest part!
But, you just contradicted yourself...

are we still arguing about this?

Tell ya what... all we have to do is measure the pressure drop between the shaker inlet and where it dumps into the airbox. If my engineering degree is worth anything, i'm going to say the pressure drop will be pretty big. (meaning lots of restriction, slowing down the air)

I think we've beaten this topic to death.. have we not?

It's Tom's fault.

I have nothing more to contribute on this subject...

I don't know what everybody else is arguing about... All I was claiming is the shaker sucks air.

It's a curse for being able to type so darn fast. My fingers get ahead of my brain, and I don't always have time to proofread at work - I'm trying to watch TV at the same time, ya know.

exactly, you can't dyno the results for that very reason, once you hit fourth gear at about 120 you make about 15-18extra hp and maybe only like 2-3 on a dyno if that. Thats the physics of how they work.

^^^^^great point

In any case, I'm a big fan of anyone who goes out of their way to put a great looking shaker on their car instead of some dinky plastic scoop. If I didn't already have a JLT setup I would be all over the shaker. Plus, it's classic oldschool, just like our cars. It's great lookin' man!
