Mustang Spec Racing

I'm of the opinion the S.C.C.A. should look at this and use this as a formula for Mustang enthusiasts to go racing…………..

What do you all think?

Mustang Challenge

Miller has built a fleet of brand new, light weight, race prepared Ford Mustangs which are available to drivers to race at each of our MPRA race events a Miller Motorsports Park. Cars can be purchased outright for $55,000, leased for the season or rented on a per race basis. They can also be rented for practice, advanced driver training or for sponsor promotions. The cars have their interiors stripped out, are fitted with full SCCA specification safety cages and fire suppression systems, full race braking systems, short shift kits, gearing modified to suit MMP's multiple and challenging race tracks, light weight wheels and DOT race tires. Specifically developed for MMP's tracks they have already proved to be very quick, running within a few seconds of the fastest Mustangs racing in pro-series such as Grand-Am's Koni Challenge.

Challenge Car Specs

Currently there are only 12 of these Mustangs in existence. These modified Mustangs will be used in Miller Motorsports Park’s MPRA race series and own driving school during the 2007 season. The Research and Development for this car was done by Multimatic (based in Toronto) and Ford. Multimatic builds the FR500C Mustang race car, which was the 2005 Grand Am Cup Champion also won 2007 Daytona Koni challenge race at Daytona raceway. This Mustang contains many of the same components as the FR500C, but costs about 70,000 less. Track-ready versions of this car are available for sale through Miller Motorsports Park.
