I too am a little older and dont need the drone. I believe its called a touch of class. By the way, Love the 70. have a 66 myself....If one needs to be load, this is it.

Good luck Don...let us know how you like or dis-like it after you try the stockers. I think you will be surprised how good it sounds.

You know that is the first exhaust clip that has made me want to throw my V6 engine away.

Hey Alex,
Your car sounds awesome! I never ran the Borla's with my longtubes but I did run them with an offroad Prochamber and my head is still ringing thinking about that setup. How is the drone factor with those Borla's and longtubes?
Scott

They drone like a biatch between 1900 and 2200 under load, but I'm not in that range much. It can be annoying, but I just ignore it. It is worth it however going WOT and seeing heads spinning around and dogs jumping.

+1!! The drone is nothing to worry about on Stingers. I just love the way the car sounds now that I have L/Ts on the car! The cars I pass, when they here it, and the thumbs up I get is a great feeling! Some times I don't even have the radio on. I just listed to the 281 V8 Symphony!!

scramblr, those are some nice videos. I like the "Evo for lunch"...

I'll post mine with ARH's, catted H, and MACs, but the quality is horrible and the engine's still in warm-up stage so it's a little poppy and distorted. But compared to the x pipe, you can tell it's a bit deeper. It will definitely wake the dead, though!

I have the same exact setup...ARHs, catted H and MACs (with a C&L CAI with a dyno tune). The H is deeper than the X, that's why they still sell an H even though you give up a few HP. I wanted my car to sound like a big block and that set up nailed it. Yeah it drones between 1800 and 2000, but I have a stick so it's not a problem.

I'll throw in my two cents for exhaust...

ARH 1-3/4" long-tubes, off-road H-pipe, stock over-axle pipes with SLP resonators welded in, and Flowmaster AT's...

First clip is start to idle:

Second clip is idle to a few revs (1500, 3000, 4500) and then shutdown.

I've only been able to drive the car for a couple of hours so far (winter just does NOT want to let go!), but my impressions are that the exhaust sounds great, both at idle and under load. It is loud, perhaps a touch too loud for my north-of-forty-year-old ears, but most importantly, there is NO drone, and NO trumpeting, and NO "fart can" popping under decel. Yes, it's loud under load, but... The car has NOT been subjected to the "wife test" yet.

Yeah, that sounds AWESOME...none of that X pipe raspiness...just raw and deep!
The dyno at the shop I go to has the back of the car pointing toward a wall so when they make a pull, all of that bass just bounces off of the wall and sounds like a monster stock car or something. I'd never heard my car from the outside before my dyno pulls and I was just blown away with how good it sounded.

Yeah, I couldn't believe how loud it was with the door open! It was rattling my insides from where I was shooting the video. I had never heard mine outside the car either. Can't wait to get some track vid's. I'm a huge fan of the H-pipe + long tubes sound from these cars!

Yeah, your exhaust sounds nice and deep too. I think you'll pass the wife tes...flows are a little quieter and from what I've seen the women don't complain about those too much plus those resonators take the edge off that O/R pipe. Can't beat an H pipe if you're going for a deep sound though...very nice!
